Hello St. Peter's Families!
On January 14th I came home from my other teaching job and didn't feel so good. My husband realized I was not acting right, so he did a stroke check on me and I failed. He took me to the emergency room at the Greenwald Hospital and found out that I did in fact have a stroke. They gave me emergency medicine for strokes and sent me by ambulance to Waukesha Memorial Hospital. There I was put in ICU for several days because my blood pressure was crazy and my breathing kept stopping every time I fell asleep. After a few days I was stable and moved to a regular room. Unfortunately, I was tested for COVID and tested positive, so I had to stay in quarantine for 10 days. Once my quarantine time was done, I was moved to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin.
This place is awesome and I am getting the care I need to recover. I am getting Physical Therapy for 3 hours every day and I am making progress. I am only allowed one visitor, so I have been able to see my husband every day. It has been hard not being able to see my kids, I have not been able to see the them in almost a month.
All of the staff at both Waukesha Memorial and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin are amazing and so kind. I appreciate all of your well wishes and prayers, please keep them coming! You have no idea how much I miss everyone at St. Peter's and I cannot wait to be back.
Thank you for all the cards and prayers!
