We are in need of a couple TVs for classrooms. If you have a working TV you are looking to get rid of, we will take it off your hands!
I wanted to make you aware that the ETSD sent out an email yesterday stating that they have no confirmed cases in the school district. St. Peter's would like to echo that sentiment, as of now there are no confirmed cases in our school community that we have been made aware of at this time. I will remain in constant contact with you throughout all of this so that everyone is aware of any changes that may come up. Within the email they also stated that all school district buildings and grounds will be closed until further notice. This includes the tennis courts, skate park, and playgrounds. St. Peter's is still going to have our first set of double doors open for drop off and pick up of materials at this time. However, our playground will also be closed until further notice.
As we continue our work from home, please be aware that each family has their own set of needs and we are doing our best to accommodate. The teachers have been working hard this week setting up Google Classrooms for the middle school students. Make sure that students are logging in everyday and completing necessary assignments. For our younger students we are asking parents to continue to check in everyday with the teacher so that we are able to take attendance for the day. Thank you for your continued efforts during this time. Next week Wednesday red folders will be available for pick up and will contain the students third quarter report cards. Grades can also be viewed online through Powerschool if you prefer. Please reach out to the school office if you are in need of new login information for Powerschool. Per the Governor's order we will not be returning to school until Monday, April 27th. Unless the order is lifted sooner. Updates will be provided as I have them. We are going to keep our Spring Break from April 6th-April 13th. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. I am grateful for the hard work that both the teachers and parents have done over the last few weeks. Keep up the great work and stay healthy! Sincerely, Megan Prudom Please note that the school with be open until 6pm tonight to pick up or drop off any necessary work. Sorry for the late notice, just wanted to open this up to all parents! Thank you!
I want to start out by thanking everyone for their continued patience with us during this time. Please know that like everyone right now we are doing our best to adjust and make this work as effectively and efficiently as possible. Every family has their own set of circumstances and we are doing our best to accommodate as necessary. If your family has a specific need, please reach out to your teacher or myself and we will do our best to help.
With the ETSD going virtual, we are doing our best to keep up, but this is going to look very different depending on the grade level of the students and the comfortability of the teacher. We are all going to be learning new technology skills through this process! If your family needs access to a Chromebook please let the teacher or school office know so that we can have one available for pick up. It is imperative that our students have access to technology to continue communication with the teacher throughout this time. Lastly, attendance is very important right now. We are asking each family to "check in" with their teacher once a day. We are trying to be flexible with all families to make it work best for you, but this is a vital step in the process. According to the Archdiocese and the State of Wisconsin we are required to be in school a certain number of days/hours. With being out of the building we still need to know that each student is checked in for the day. Your teacher will email you with more information regarding their checking in process. Again, this will look different depending on the grade level of your student. Any questions or concerns you may have can be directed to me. I am available through email at this time. Thank you again for all your support and understanding. I promise to keep you updated with any changes that come our way through this complicated time. Sincerely, Megan Prudom The East Troy School District released an update this evening regarding school closures in East Troy. As of this afternoon, the CDC issued a new, updated guidance regarding the virus. The new guidance recommends that organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States. As a result, the school board held another emergency meeting this evening and decided to close all schools in the district effective tomorrow. Health and safety for our students and families is first and foremost.
St. Peter's will follow this guideline and we will be open Monday from noon to 3pm for all parents to pick up their children's educational materials and personal belongings. Staff will be preparing materials from 9 AM until noon. If you are unable to pick up the materials tomorrow, this will not adversely affect your child's grades. We will make every effort to coordinate with you so that your child will be able to move forward with their education this month. Thank you for your patience during this time. Please call the office tomorrow morning if you have any questions or need to make arrangements for a later pick up time. Our school office number is 642-5533 Earlier this morning, East Troy Public Schools released a statement that they will remain open Monday March 16th and Tuesday March 17th, but will close from March 18th through April 14th. This encompasses the previously scheduled Spring Break. Keeping in line with my previous communication, we are also going to follow this schedule. With many other schools in the area choosing to close beginning Monday, we understand if you prefer your child to stay home. These absences will be excused, but we ask that you please call the school office to inform us of the absence.
We will do our best as a staff to make sure that your child is given the resources necessary to continue learning during this time. Next Monday and Tuesday will be used as a time to prepare the students and staff for this period of modified instruction. Thank you for your continued commitment to our school and if you have any specific questions you are welcome to reach out to me via email or by calling the school office. Sincerely, Megan Prudom As many of you may have heard, Governor Evers declared that all schools will be closed starting Wednesday March 18th until Monday, April 6th. I have spoken with Father Mark and at this point we are going to follow East Troy School Districts decision on whether or not we will have school on Monday March 16th. Please know that as soon as I am aware of their decision I will notify you. Students were sent home from school with resources and assignments that they can do from home. More information will be provided in the coming days as to how we are going to continue this altered format of in-home instruction. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this ever-changing situation.
Sincerely, Megan Prudom Coronavirus Update
