Thursday April 1st
Please be aware that we do not have school mass tomorrow. It is a tradition in the church to only hold one mass on Holy Thursday and it is typically held at night for all to attend. Instead, we are going to be participating in a reenactment of the Last Supper with the students. Younger students will be grouped with older students during this so that they are able to gain a deeper understanding. We are however asking that students Dress Their Best tomorrow in celebration and recognition of Holy Thursday. If students wish not to participate in dressing up, we ask that they wear a St. Peter's polo.

Jelly Bean Guess Contest
Our 8th graders are working hard to continue to earn money for their class trip to the Wisconsin Dells in May. They have created a contest for the students to participate in. They are asking that students pay $.50 to take a guess of how many jelly beans are in the jar outside of the school office. The students whose guess is the closest will win all of the jelly beans! You are welcome to send money to school for your child to make a guess anytime between now and April 16th. A winner will be drawn on April 16th at the end of the day. Good Luck!

Graduation
Our 8th grade Graduation Mass will be held on Friday June 4th at 10:30am. This mass will be limited to graduates and their families, so there is no limit to the number of family members that you are able to bring. We simply ask that you continue to social distance while in church. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are not able to celebrate graduation with a family breakfast this year. Students are however able to leave immediately following mass to celebrate with friends and family off of school and church grounds.

Parent Advisory Committee
This is our primary school committee that meets once a month and discusses various topics that relate to the functioning of the school much as enrollment, fundraisers, marketing, policies, etc. The meeting is tonight at 7pm in the cafe. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, I urge you to attend our meeting tonight.

Zoo Field Trip
All students are going to be taking a field trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo on May 12th from 9am-2:30pm. Permission slips went home last week in red folders. Please be sure to send the permission slip and fees back to school by Friday, April 16th.

Spring Play
Students are going to be performing a play on Thursday, May 13th for a live audience! We are so excited to welcome our families into school to show off all of the students hard work. Mrs. Bezak is requesting that all students grades K3-6th grade purchase a "camp shirt" as their costume for the play. The cost of the shirt is $5 per child. An information form went home about this in red folders today.

Seeking Room Parents
We need your help! After a brief hiatus, we are bringing back Room Parent Volunteers aka RPVs. RPVs provide an invaluable service to our school. They help coordinate class parties and events, as well as serve as a source of communication between the teacher, school and parents in your class. As a RPV, you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting where you will receive an overview of the Room Parent role. To learn more, contact Erin Seaverson:  erin.seaverson@gmail.com.

 Spring Break
Reminder that we have spring break from April 2nd-April 9th. Students will be returning to school on April 12th. I have been made aware that ETSD will not be having school on April 1st due to teacher vaccinations. However, we will still have a normal school day.

Student Drop Off
Beginning after Spring Break, we are once again welcoming families back into the school building for morning drop off. I recognize that this is an important opportunity for parents to interact with other parents as well as teachers and that its a part of what makes us so special! We are requiring parents who enter the school to wear a mask and be temperature checked at the door so that we are able to maintain a safe environment for all students and staff. Although we encourage parents to take advantage of this wonderful time, we politely ask that all parents begin exiting the school once announcements begin at 7:50am. Please note that although this is an option, it is not necessary. You may continue to drop off students at the door the way you have been doing.

 Parent Survey Reminder
The school office emailed all parents a survey on Monday March 22nd and we are asking that parents fill out the survey for each student that attends St. Peter's. Please complete the survey by Thursday April 1st. We appreciate everyone taking the time to provide us meaningful feedback so that we can continue to improve.

St. Peter's Yard Signs
We ordered yard signs to help advertise around our community how much we all love St. Peter's School. We have signs available for parents to pick up to place in their yards. We are also looking for a few families to volunteer to give out signs after masses on the weekend. This would only involve you standing outside after mass for 5-10 minutes to offer signs to parishioners that are interested. Please email or call the school office if this is something you are willing to help with!

I have been made aware that ETSD will not be having school on April 1st due to teacher vaccinations. However, we will still have a normal school day. The only change will be an alternate bus route for those students who take the bus. If you need bus services on this day, please contact the school office if you have not already done so.
 All School Mass Update
Students now attend mass on Thursdays at 10:30am. Due to Covid we could no longer allow parents or guests at our school mass. However, the Arch has changed their guidelines and we are able to now invite parents back to mass with us! Parents and Grandparents who reside in the same household are welcome to come join us in celebrating mass. We ask that you arrive a little early, sit with your child(ren), and wear a mask. This will allow us to maintain our social distancing and health guidelines we have in place in church.

Exciting News!!
The last year has been really tough and I am so grateful for all of the support that our families and parishioners have given us through this difficult time. We are finally starting to get some sense of normalcy back and its such a great feeling! Our school thrives on its relationships with families and the community as a whole. We are so excited and looking forward to this spring and summer when we can once again begin to celebrate and come together as a school community. This newsletter is filled with good news about upcoming events for both students and families. Hopefully this is just the beginning of all the fun things that we will get to enjoy together over the next few months!

School Lunch Clubs
We are going to begin offering clubs for students during lunch recess! These clubs will give students the opportunity to interact with students in other grades and express their interests and creativity in many different ways! Some of the options will include Lego Club, Science Club, Design Club, Fitness Club, and more! Beginning next week, students will have the opportunity to sign up for clubs of their choice. These clubs will run for a 4-6 week period and be held once a week.
