Muffin Monday's in May
Every Monday in May we are welcoming parents into school between 7:30-7:50am to drop off your child and enjoy a muffin and coffee to go! Muffins will be individually packaged and we are asking that they be consumed once you leave the building. What a better way to start off the week?! School Accreditation Visit-Tuesday May 4th Every school within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee goes through the accreditation process every seven years. For this process we rate ourselves on 88 standards and justify how we accomplish those standards through documentation. This process is a great way for us as a school to receive feedback from the Archdiocese and create long term goals based on that feedback. I am asking that all students Dress Their Best or wear our school uniform for this day. No shorts please. Three administrators from the Archdiocese will be in the school throughout the day interviewing staff and observing classrooms. Teacher Appreciation Week Just a reminder that next week, May 3rd-7th is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are not asking for anything specific from families this year, however I wanted to make you all aware of it in the event that you did want to do something special for your child's classroom teacher. Something as simple as a card made by the child is very meaningful and appreciated. Throughout the week we are going to be showcasing each of our teachers and celebrating their unique gifts and talents that they bring to our school. Look for special newsletters about our teachers next week! May Crowning Mass Next Thursday, May 6th at 10:30am is our special May Crowning Mass when we celebrate our first communion students. First communion students are encouraged to wear their gowns and dress clothes to mass on Thursday. If extended families of the first communion students plan to attend this mass, please reach out to me or Deb in the office to let us know so that we can reserve a pew for your family. Parent Vision Meeting May 6th at 7pm in the school cafe we are inviting all St. Peter's parents to attend a vision meeting. Our hope for this meeting is to bring parents and staff together to discuss our hopes and ideas in regards to the future of St. Peter's School. More details about this meeting will be sent in a separate newsletter at the beginning of next week. Please mark your calendars and join us for a positive and collaborative meeting! Art to Remember Tomorrow is the last day to submit order for Art to Remember. Below is the link to place your orders. Art to Remember Orders Graduation Our 8th grade Graduation Mass will be held on Friday June 4th at 10:30am. This mass will be limited to graduates and their families, so there is no limit to the number of family members that you are able to bring. We simply ask that you continue to social distance while in church. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are not able to celebrate graduation with a family breakfast this year. Students are however able to leave immediately following mass to celebrate with friends and family off of school and church grounds. Spring Play Students are going to be performing a play on Thursday, May 13th, with a 1pm and 6pm show for a live audience! We are so excited to welcome our families and parishioners into school to show off all of the students hard work. Please remember that masks are still required while in the school. Band Lessons I have found a band teacher who is interested in coming to St. Peter's next year to provide private band lessons for students in grades 3-8. The cost would be $60 a month for 4 individual band lessons. I would like to have at least 5 students participating in this to make it worth while for the teacher to come one day a week for lessons. Please email me directly or call the school office if you are interested in having your child participate in band next year. Raffle Baskets During our Spring Play we are planning on having raffle baskets available to win! We are asking that each class help make a different themed basket for this event. What we would need is each student to bring in an item or two that follows the theme of their class basket. Please turn in these items by April 30th so we can begin assembling the baskets. Tickets to win these baskets will be available to school families and parishioners beginning in May. To participate in this event, we are asking families to pay $10 per child to show your appreciation for all of the wonderful things your child does. Each child who participates will receive a special treat or prize everyday of the week showing how appreciated they are! There will also be special events for all students throughout the week. After a brief hiatus, we are bringing back Room Parent Volunteers aka RPVs. RPVs provide an invaluable service to our school. They help coordinate class parties and events, as well as serve as a source of communication between the teacher, school and parents in your class. As a RPV, you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting where you will receive an overview of the Room Parent role. To learn more, contact Erin Seaverson: erin.seaverson@gmail.com. |
