Welcome Mrs. Allie Malkowski
Mrs. Malkowski is the new K3-K5 Teacher for the 22/23 school year! She comes to us with 4 years teaching experience in Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms. Her and her husband are moving to the area and she is excited to be a part of our St. Peter's and East Troy community! We will be hosting a "Meet Your Teacher" event in June so that all of our Kindergarten students and families have the opportunity to meet her before school begins. More information will be coming soon on this event. Teacher Appreciation Week Next Week, May 2nd-6th is Teacher Appreciation Week. We created a schedule for the week to help families and students with ideas on how they can celebrate their teacher! This flyer was sent home today in Red Folders and is also available by clicking the button below. Help us show our teachers how much we appreciate everything they do! Calling all families to help us on Good Friday after the 12pm Mass to assist with spring clean up on the church and school grounds. We will meet in front of church. Please bring your favorite garden tools and it would help if you have extras to bring for sharing. Some garden tools to dust off and consider bringing: rakes, garden gloves, hand-held clippers or scissors (for trimming down plants), tarps would be most helpful (for transporting leaves and debris to the compost area) and perhaps a bucket for small debris and a kneeler. Parents and students are encouraged to wear their St. Peter's apparel. Volunteering at the St. Peter's Clothing Center Our 4th and 5th grade students spent the afternoon at the St. Peter's Clothing Center assisting with organizing and cleaning after the bag sale. Our students were able to learn about how Helping Hands assists those in our own community. This was a great experience for our students! Last week, St. Peter's Faith Formation families received information about Safe Environment Lessons that are going to be taking place and a few parents have reached out about whether our students take part in these lessons as well. St. Peter's School students do take part in these safe environment lessons, so I wanted to update you on when these lessons will be taking place and what the topics will be for each class.
We utilize the Circle of Grace curriculum that is approved by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to discuss age appropriate, but sometimes sensitive topics with children that primarily revolve around personal safety. We teach these lessons in 1-2 days during the last week of May. Below are the topics that will be taught for each class. If you do not wish for your child(ren) to participate in these lessons you may opt out. I am happy to share more details of the lessons with any parents who has concerns, but I assure you that these are based on what is appropriate content for each age level. 3K/4K/5K-What is our Circle of Grace? 1st Grade-Safe/Unsafe secrets -Trusted Adults 2nd/3rd grade- What Belongs in our Circle of Grace? -Action Plan (How to respond to unsafe situations) 4th/5th Grade- Internet Safety -What role does media play in our Circle of Grace? |
