Beginning in October, we will now be offering an ala carte option on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.   The ala carte option will be listed on the lunch calendar, along with the ala carte price.   The ala carte option will change monthly.

There are so many exciting things happening at St. Peter's School this month!  Please make sure to check the calendar daily so you do not miss important events!   Several fun field trips, parties, and a visit from the Fire Department for Fire Safety Week too!

Fall Festival

Fall Fest is fast approaching! It is on Oct 6th from 11-5pm and has many exciting events for the whole family! There will be games, a cake walk, rummage sale, and of course an amazing chicken dinner!  We hope to see everyone there!

Donations - Soup Cans

We are still in need of a few more soup cans for our project that we are working on for fall fest. If you are able to please bring in any washed out soup cans that you may have at your house. These can be turned into the school office. Thank you!

Band Classes

Sadly Mrs. Steven's has decided to end her time here at St. Peter's. We would like to thank her for her many years of hard work and dedication to our students! With that being said please know that we are now in search of a new band teacher for this year. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this position please reach out to the school office.

Pancakes With Santa

We are excited to announce that on Sunday, December 15th from 7:00 a.m.- 12 p.m. St. Peters's will be hosting a winter wonderland pancake breakfast in the cafe. We understand that it's early to be thinking of Christmas already, but December calendars fill fast!. Our goal is to make this a community wide event that extends beyond the school, so the more people that are informed the better. But, we need your help spreading the word! All we ask is that you visit the Facebook event that has been created on St. Peter's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/374108270194569/ and share it to YOUR Facebook page. With your help of drumming up excitement and informing others, we are hoping to make this a huge success, as money raised from the pancake breakfast will go directly to funding technology at our school.

Safegaurding Class
At back to school night everyone was given a packet that explained the expectations of becoming a volunteer/chaperone. The Archdiocese policy is that in order to participate in these activities you must first take a safeguarding class. St. Peter's is going to be hosting a class on Thursday, October 24th at 6pm in the school cafe. Please follow the instructions below to sign up for the class.

Soles 4 Souls
St. Peter's Brickbusters is hosting a shoe drive! Please bring in your gently worn shoes and place them in the designated bin that is located near the school office. Every pair of shoes helps! In your red folders you will find a letter that explains more about the organization and the wonderful things it is doing for those in need.
 
Calendar Raffles 
Every family was sent home with the yearly calendar raffles that are due December 20th. Many families have shown interest in the past regarding selling these after masses. This year we have created a calendar for selling. If you would like to sell calendars after an upcoming mass please notify the school office and we will add your family. There are also times available for selling at Fall Fest. I have attached a Google calendar to sign up for times during fall festival.   CALENDAR

Frank's Piggly Wiggly Receipts

We are so happy to share that Mrs. Prahl will be teaching Art this year!!  She is looking for some odds and ends supplies and is wondering if you can help.  This is a year long collection, so any time you find you have some of these items, please bring them to school so our kiddos can use them to make one-of-a-kind Masterpieces!

Frank's Piggly Wiggly Receipts

Receipts from Frank's Piggly Wiggly are coming due for 3rd quarter (July, August, and September). We are going to be hosting two different after school clubs over the next few months. Please see the information below on these wonderful opportunities. Flyers will also be sent home in red folders today.
 
Adventure Club: Students in grade K5-3rd Grade have the opportunity to be build crafts, participate in group activities, and learn about the conservation through nature and the outdoors. The class is every Thursday from 2:45-3:45 and will run for 6 weeks. The cost is $25 per student.
 
Drawing Club: Young Rembrandts is an organization that does an after school drawing club for students in 1-5th grade. The students will have an opportunity to learn various art concepts as well as create many art projects. The class will be every Tuesday from 2:50-3:50 and will run for 6 weeks. The cost is $69 per student.

Just a reminder that you are now able to check your lunch balances in Powerschool. Lunch statements will only be sent home in red folders when the lunch balance is $5.00 or less.

St. Benedict's All School Mass

This Friday September 20th is our all school mass at St. Benedict's in Fontana. If you have not yet turned in permission slips and money please do so by tomorrow. Students are to wear red polos and khaki bottoms. They are able to wear khaki or black shorts as long as they are an appropriate length for church. A hotdog lunch will be provided.

Another successful quarter for this fundraiser!  Your efforts turning in receipts gave our parish/school $382. Thank you and remember to turn in those receipts early and often.  Only receipts turned in by the end of the quarter count towards our total.  Spirit wear/Uniforms
New this year we are going to have our spirit wear and uniform sales completely online. I have attached a link to the website that you will use to purchase these. Permission Slips
Permission slips went home on back to school night and are due September 16th for the all school mass at St. Benedicts and September 24th for the parade. Please also be aware that $4 is due to pay for the bus fee. Many families have turned in the permission slips, but not payment.  Please feel free to stop in the office if you need an additional field trip form.
 
School Calendar
This week in red folders we are sending home the school calendar. There was a mix up at the end of last year and a few families were sent home with the wrong one. Just to avoid any confusion we decided it was best to resend home the correct calendar with all families. Thank you for understanding.

Advertising / Sponsorship Opportunity

For our parents and families who are professionals or have their own business!
 
You have the opportunity to place an advertisement on our new official Student Daily Assignment Books.  These new high quality coasted assignment books will be used as a teaching tool for tracking homework, and to help our students to better prepare for class.  They will also provide a means of communication between the classroom and home.   Your help is needed in sponsoring these books with an advertisement, so that they may be offered at no cost to our students.  This is an outstanding way for both the students and parents to see your message on a daily basis.
 
Please contact the School Office for the form and have it filled out by September 13th.
 
This form does not obligate you to purchase an advertisement.  We will give your name to the company who will be putting these items together and printing them for us.  They will contact you with more information.

First Day Success
Our first day back was a huge success! All the students seemed excited to be back and ready to learn! Father Mark was able to join us in the morning for an all school prayer service where we were able to celebrate together the blessings God has given us.

Red Folders
Red folders are going home today and will go home every Wednesday with students. New this year, folders will be going home with the youngest child in the family. Please take the time each week to look in the folders for all important information from the school office. Weekly newsletters, permission slips, and community/school event flyers are sent home in these folders.

Permission Slips
Permission slips went home on back to school night and are due September 16th for the all school mass at St. Benedicts and September 24th for the parade. Please also be aware that $4 is due to pay for the bus fee. Many families have turned in the permission slips, but not payment. Nut-free Policy
Please be aware that we are a nut free school due to the fact that we have many students with severe allergies. This means that all student snacks and lunch must be NUT FREE. This includes PB&J sandwiches. Thank you!
