Reminder-Virtual Learning November 30-December 4th
I have kept the virtual learning guidelines attached to this newsletter for your reference if needed. I know many of the teachers have also created their own letters giving information and details about the week. Our school office will be open during this week from 8am-12pm in the event that you have questions or need assistance navigating our online platform. In addition to their regular homeroom classes, we are also going to be providing families with gym activities and music classes! On Monday we will email families some fun activities to help keep students active throughout the week. Students in Grades 1-8 will also have the opportunity to participate in a music class on Thursday afternoon. Students can login to their Music Google Classroom and click the Meet link on the top left hand corner of the screen at their designated class time. Below is the Music schedule for Thursday.
Grades 1/2- 12:30-1pm
Virtual Learning Guidelines
I have attached a short survey to the bottom of this newsletter that I am asking all families to fill out by November 30th. Your answers are very important to help guide our decision making for the future. The results will be shared with the Emergency Response Committee and decisions will be made with consideration of the results.
Family Fun Night To Go
Our PTO is excited to announce that we are going to be hosting a family fun night to go style! We are sad that we cannot all meet at school for a family game night, but we thought we would help you celebrate with your families at home. The kit will include a spaghetti dinner for 4, plus two games and a craft for $30! Order forms were sent home today with students and need to be returned by November 30th. You are welcome to place them in the mailbox or drop them off at the Parish office if the school is not open. You can also email us and let us know that you intend to participate and bring in your money once we return to school on December 7th.
Virtual Christmas Concert
Students will be participating in a virtual Christmas Concert this year on Thursday December 17th. We are going to try to stream the show live on Facebook and we will also be adding a link to view on the newsletter. Students will need to bring their clothes for the concert with them to school that day. This is a church day, but students can come in dress up clothes that day instead of uniforms.
Student report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, December 9th in red folders with Grades 1-8. Kindergarten report cards are only sent home twice a year and will be sent home before the students leave for Christmas Break.
Morning Temperature Checks
Beginning December 7th, we will be taking student temperatures inside the school building. We have realized that the thermometers have not been reading accurately in the colder weather. We are asking that parents still form a car line and let the students out of the car starting at 7:30am. There will be someone there to open the door for students from 7:30-7:45am. After 7:45am, the students are considered tardy and will need to be let in through the front doors.
Today the Walworth County Health Department announced that they have now entered into Phase 1 Guidance because of the community spread of Covid-19. They are strongly recommending that all schools in Walworth County go virtual starting on Monday, November 30th and continuing until Friday December 4th. We have luckily had this plan for the last few weeks. We will continue to work with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and well as the Walworth County Health Department to make the most informed decisions regarding the school. I will continue to update families as soon as possible to allow for as much advanced notice as possible. I have been extremely impressed with how all of our families have responded to this situation. By keeping students home that are not feeling well, and by following our protocols, we have been fortunate enough to have zero positive cases so far. My hope is that families will continue to be safe throughout the holidays and make the best decisions to ensure the health and safety of both the students and staff.

This year's Christmas Program will go on, but will be different from past years.
The students are already working on their parts. We will be video-taping the students and putting it on a link for you to watch. More details about the date we will be video-taping will be coming soon.
What to wear? On the day of taping, students in grades K3-grade 2 should wear nice Christmas or Church clothes.
Students in grades 3-8 will need to wear clothes that reflect their parts.
Thank you for your support!
Virtual Learning November 30-December 4th
We have been working hard as a staff to prepare for our virtual learning week that is scheduled the week after Thanksgiving break. I have attached two forms below to help families get a better understanding of what to expect for the week. One is a basic overview of the Guidelines that teachers plan to follow and the other is a schedule of virtual classes for the week. Please be aware that K3-K5 families have a separate form coming home in red folders today explaining their guidelines. We created a schedule to help families better manage time on devices so children are able to share devices if necessary. We do have a limited number of Chromebooks that may be loaned out from the school, first come first serve. Please reach out to the school office no later than Tuesday, November 17th if you would like a Chromebook sent home with your child on November 24th. A form will be sent home for you to sign and return to school. If you have any questions regarding our virtual learning guidelines feel free to reach out to me at anytime.
