Good Afternoon!
I want to start out by saying that due to the Governors Mask Order, all students in grades K5-8th as well as staff will be required to wear a mask while in the school building until September 28th. At that point, should the Governor not extend the order, the Emergency Response Committee will re-evaluate the use of masks. What I have learned so far through all of this is that even with the best laid plans, things are going to change. We are doing our best as a school to adjust accordingly. The Committee met this morning to discuss more details about school re-opening in the fall and I wanted to provide families with a few of those updates. Back to School Night-
School Hot Lunch Program-
Staffing Update- I am still in process of conducting interviews to fill the 2/3 and 4th grade positions. I plan to have a final decision on the candidates by next Thursday. Please understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, especially teachers and as a Committee we are doing our best to consider our school families as well as our school staff. It is my goal to hire experienced and dedicated teachers to be a part of our St. Peter's family. Enrollment Update- Please get your registration paperwork for next fall in as soon as possible. We have gotten many phone calls this week about new students and its important that we have an accurate picture of what our numbers are for staffing purposes. We have decided that we are caping class sizes at 17 currently in order to maintain social distancing protocols in the classrooms. If numbers continue to increase we are considering hiring a classroom aide or splitting classes. I will continue to update you as things evolve over the next few weeks. Building Improvements Parent Survey- The Committee as well as the school maintenance staff have been working together to formulate a list of potential building improvements that we would be completed before the start of school in the fall. Many of these improvements are costly and therefore it is unlikely that we are able to do all of them. We are asking parents to take this brief survey regarding building improvements to gauge what are the most important improvements you would like to see happen before your child returns to school this fall. I have linked the survey below. Thank you in advance for your feedback! Building Improvements Survey If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the school office or me directly. Thank you for the continued support. God Bless! Comments are closed.
