This newsletter is going to be focused Mrs. Rotier and her long and dedicated career at St. Peter's School. It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing her retirement this year. We want to thank her for everything she has done for our school over her 24 years at St. Peter's.
After 41 years of dedicated service to teaching, Mrs. Sandy Rotier, is setting her sights on a well-deserved retirement and spending more time with her family and her recently retired husband, Steven Rotier, of whom she has been married to for 52 years.
Mrs. Rotier has four children: Sonja, Steven, Sarah, and Sacha. She has seven grandchildren: four boys and three girls. She enjoys visiting them and having them over to her home on Lake Beulah. She has lived in East Troy since 1996 and lived in Spring Green prior to that. The lake house was where they vacationed in the 1980’s. Mr. Rotier is originally from East Troy.
Mrs. Rotier earned her teaching degree between Vernon Teacher’s College, where she attended for 2 years, and then she finished at UW-Plattevile after her husband returned from the Vietnam War. She began her career as a third grade teacher in Wales Elementary School. She also taught middle school 5th-8th at St. Luke’s Plain for 15 years where she also coached 5th-6th grade basketball for 10 years!
She has taught at St. Peter’s Parish School for 24 years. She began as a Preschool Aide, part time third grade teacher, and then taught 5th-8th grade science. A few of Mrs. Rotier’s activities that she took on as a teacher at St. Peter’s are: Advisor to Kiwanis student organization, Garden Club for students, Spelling Bee organizer, bus duty guard, Knowledge Quest coach, Forensics coach, Accreditation Team volunteer, server coordinator for school Mass, May Crowning Mass lead for school Mass, Assistant to Mrs. Bezak for school musicals, summer school teacher at St. Peter’s/tutor, Director for staff plays for children, organizer for fundraisers/drives at our school, organizer of All-School end of the year picnics/Halloween party, advisor to middle school classes with raising money for their 8th grade trip, school store coordinator, volunteer at parish/school fish fry and Fall Festival, financial supporter for Casino Night and students needs at our school, and dedication to her craft as an excellent science teacher and other academic areas that she was willing to teach each year.
The entire school community benefitted from Mrs. Rotier’s leadership and passion for both learning and teaching. The seamless functioning of her role in different capacities at St. Peter’s is evidence that Mrs. Rotier made it a priority to give generously of her time and experience. St. Peter’s would like to dedicate an honorary garden in front of the school to Mrs. Rotier for her years of dedication. Please send a thank you card to Mrs. Rotier to show your appreciation. She would love to hear from you. All of us here at St. Peter’s will miss her dearly. We will never forget her contributions to our school. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
Due to her long service and dedication to our school we are in the process of remodeling the landscaping around the flag pole. Raising the flag every morning was important to her and her students and we thought this would be a great way to honor her for many more years. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this project a possibility and thank you Mrs. Rotier for everything you have done for all of us!
