I unfortunately am writing to inform you that we have a student who has tested positive for COVID and another student who has symptoms and is awaiting test results. I have contacted the Walworth County Health Department and am waiting to hear back for further guidance on who is considered a close contact and how long quarantine will last. We have reason to believe that although it is just one positive case that multiple grades and multiple staff members have been in close contact. This is something that I will need to discuss further with the Health Department and I believe they will contact families individually that are considered to have a student that is a close contact.
As of right now the plan moving forward will be that all students in grades K3-8th will be virtual starting Wednesday December 16th-Tuesday December 22nd. All students were sent home with their books and the students who needed Chromebooks were supplied with them before leaving. I will continue to stay in contact with you throughout the night and into tomorrow as I learn more about next steps and guidance to families moving forward. As of right now, our decision to be virtual the week after Christmas break is being put on hold. I understand that this changes many things regarding that week and that we will do our best to respond to this situation in the most thoughtful and responsible way possible. Sincerely, Megan Sagat Comments are closed.
