We have heard that there are other schools and districts that are preparing for a snow day tomorrow. I wanted to take the time to explain what the snow day procedures will be should we find ourselves in that position. As with prior years, we will follow what East Troy Public decides to do. This means if East Troy Public School has a snow day, we will as well. This includes a 2-hour delay. We have many families who use the bus and therefore we will follow their schedule as it relates to a potential snow day. I will email families as soon as I become aware of school being canceled and I will also post it to numerous news outlets. Feel free to email me if you are unsure.
The question of virtual learning came up and whether we would have the students participate in virtual learning during their snow day. We have decided that this is not the route that we are going to take. Many students do not have the necessary technology at home to make this a viable option and it also puts undue stress on the teachers to have to prepare virtual lessons with no advanced notice. However, we do not have extra days built into our schedule this year. So, we would be in a position where we would need to make up whatever time is taken off due to a snow day. We have the option of adding a day at the end of the year, adding a virtual day during a scheduled vacation day or adding a few minutes to each school day. Should we find ourselves in this position, we will notify you ASAP as to what the calendar change will be. Thank you! Sincerely, Megan Sagat Comments are closed.
