About Us

We believe that it is the right of every child to be educated to the full stature of his/her capabilities, this can only be accomplished within a caring, Christian community where the child is nurtured and guided spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. It is our belief that in this environment a child will witness and develop a sense of social and moral responsibility for the consequences of his/her personal actions and for the betterment of humankind. At Saint Peter's School, this philosophy is, "alive and continuously guides and directs our words and actions."
Message:
Teach our children the doctrines and traditions of our Catholic faith.
Enhance the dignity of every child.
Community:
Encourage family participation in school programs and activities.
Participate in outreach efforts in both local and global communities.
Worship:
Provide an opportunity for children to engage in traditional and spontaneous prayer.
Attend weekly liturgies.
Plan and carry out all-school prayer services and seasonal prayer.
Provide opportunity for regular reception of the sacraments.
Service:
To understand the importance of service to our school, parish, and local and global communities.
Develop an attitude of service for the betterment of our community.
Lead our students to put our words into actions.
Vision:
As St. Peter’s School, our ultimate goal is reflected in the kind of students we send forth from eighth grade. It is our aim to send forth students who:
Are academically prepared to meet the challenges of high school and beyond;
Have a strong moral and ethical; foundation upon which to base their decision-making;
Have learned how to learn;
Know and practice their Catholic faith;
Have the courage to demonstrate their commitment to God and the Gospel values;
Love and respect freedom and understand their role in preserving that freedom.
In addition, it is our goal to spread our message to both our parish community and larger East Troy community that we are an exemplary Catholic school, unique in our vision and dedicated to the fulfillment of our mission.
Mission:
Saint Peter's Catholic School, serving children from three-year-old kindergarten through eighth grade, is dedicated to providing for the needs of each child. Our mission is to help each child reach his/her potential in a community of faith, which is "living, conscious, and active."
Christian Formation:
St. Peter’s School is committed to excellence in education with a Catholic Christian philosophy that makes the teachings of Jesus its central core. Parents, as primary educators of their children, must be involved in this process. Without this participation, it is impossible for the members of the faculty to prepare children for a life of faith and participation in the sacramental life of the Church. Parental example of praying and regular reception of the sacraments is all-important.
“Christian education is intended to “ make man’s faith become living, conscious, and active, through the light of instruction’ (The Bishop’s Office in the Church, 14) The catholic school is the unique setting within this ideal can be realized in the lives of Catholic children and young people.” (102)
The catholic School strives to relate all human culture eventually to the news of salvation, so that the life of faith will illumine the knowledge, which students gradually gain of the world, or life of mankind (Christian Education 8).
“All those involved in a Catholic school, parents, pastors, teachers, administrators, and must earnestly desire to make it a community of faith which is indeed “living, conscious, and active.” (106)
“More than any other program if education sponsored by the Church, the Catholic School has the opportunity and obligation to be unique, contemporary, and oriented to Christian service…oriented to Christian service because it helps students acquire skills, virtues, and habits of heart and mind required for effective service to others” (106)
It is also widely recognized that Catholic schools are to be communities of faith in which the Christian message, the experience of community, worship , and social concern are integrated in the total experience of students, their parents, and members of the faculty. (Sharing the Light of Faith, 9)
Therefore, the Catholic elementary school must be such that children can learn together about human needs and how to begin to respond to the obligation of Christian service through joint action. St. Peter’s School is dedicated to providing for the needs of each child, Our goal is to help each child realize his/her potential.
